The Gist
We bought this 1973 Dodge Brougham RV in late May of 2009 for $900. I have previously lived in worked in South America for a year doing freelance web design and photography and since business has progressively improved, I thought, why the hell not. I didn’t like where I was living, Portland Oregon (mostly due to its insistence on being the wettest, most overcast place on the planet) so after many renovations, crafty and costly, and many more improvements to come, The Brougham and I begin our journey late August of ’09.
Who am I?!
I am Katya. A 29 year old, one term away from graduation, Arts and Letters major. I am the sole employee and owner of Lostlogo Design which I founded in like.. lets say.. 2004 or something. For the last 3 years I have been working for myself doing freelance work or running my many sites that get my enough commission to live on. “Lots of money” has never driven me so traveling in an RV with my dog, laptop, cameras (and eventually a Nintendo Wii) is fine for me. I dont have much family (2), my friends are scattered around the world and country, and I hate stability and routine. Im the perfect fit for a disaster filled adventure on the road!
What kind of nerd am I?
Well this is relative to what you consider a nerd. I do the web design thing but I am not a php, asp or .net programmer. I am more artistically minded and start punching things if codes besides html, css or light php piss me off. I am really into photography and would eventually like to make some money on it. I have shows here and there when I can afford it and sell some prints on Etsy.com. I love Star Trek, original and next gen. I was raised without a father and have always kind of considered Kirk and Spock my 2 dads because it was one of the only shows I was allowed to watch growing up. I love Battlestar Galactica (the new) and many nerdy movies.. MSTK3000, Office Space type humor, British humor and shows and funny movies about cops. I’m also a film minor so .. I like lots of movies and this could go on for ages. What I like “ok” but am not that big into, is Star Wars, you can leave now if you wish but after the first 3 I just didn’t give a shit about the depth of story, too deep.
I’m a car nerd, old cars that is. I don’t like any car that can lock me in and kill me. I suck at math.
Im also a fashion nerd.. but not a fashion snob by ANY means and run the site www.street-fashion.net.
Anyways…

FILM except for work, spur of the moment or “im in a dangerous country maybe” type photography.
Computer:
Toshiba Satellite laptop and 3 external harddrives with 19″ screen attached (so 2 screens for the non counters).
Work with:
You know.. the usual design and code stuff. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Filezilla etc etc.
